Kristen's story

Kristen has been an athlete all her life, and she competed in swimming and track and field at the Division I level. Her grandparents' vitality later in life, and seeing what strength training could do for older adults, led her to make fitness after 60 her work.

Her very first client, in 2016, was her own mom, Julie. Julie later came back strong after a hip replacement, and at 75 she calls her replaced hip one of her better joints. Read Julie's story.

Kristen built TogetherWON around one approach for the body, brain and balance. Today our trainers work with adults over 60 in their homes in Colorado Springs, Monument and the Tri-Lakes area, and online through the TogetherWON app, which her husband, Aaron, built.

Every Saturday, Kristen writes a letter with one idea for your body, brain or balance, usually with a recipe. She has turned the best of them into guides on topics like strength training, balance, brain health and nutrition after 60.

How Kristen writes

  • The research comes first. Her guides and most of her letters list the studies behind them, with links to PubMed or official health sites like the CDC and the National Institute on Aging.
  • Plain language and real stories. Each piece explains the science simply, with moves you can try at home and stories from clients and her own family.
  • Kept up to date. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
  • Education, not medical advice. Talk with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have a health condition. Read our health disclaimer.
